Why donate?
A gift to GreaterGood is a gift that keeps on giving. All donations to the Foundation are treated as capital. Only the income generated from the invested capital is distributed regularly to nominated charities and causes in the Capital Region.Advantages of directing philanthropic gifts through GreaterGood are:
- Gifts are used to build social capital within the Capital Region
- Gifts donated are preserved and only the income is allocated - gifts are perpetual
- Fund management is the role of the ACT Public Trustee who is subject to annual audit and public governance
- Tax deductibility for the Gift Fund
- On-going recognition
- Range of donor gift options, including cash, installments, workplace giving, bequests, shares and property
- Funds are invested for a mixture of growth and good income return and funds managers are selected on the basis of rigorous assessment. The funds portfolio is invested under the Prudent Person Principle of the Trustee Act 1925.
Who can donate?
Anyone can! Individuals, corporations, businesses, organizations, groups, workers through Workplace Giving, other foundations, Governments and Local Councils.
